Think Before You Speak

This is a great campaign because honestly, I am so, so, so tired of hearing people say "That's so gay." A couple weeks ago we were in Blockbuster and heard it come from a teenage girl....and I wish I had thought at that second to say something. I didn't (and neither did Dakota who also heard it though we did talk amongst ourselves loud enough to (hopefully) be heard)but next time I think I will. This girl just happened to be with a parent (hers or one of her friends) who did tell her to not say it and that it wasn't ok to say which we were happy to hear.

Watch all three PSA's (public service announcements)- and maybe next time you hear it come from someone you can add your voice to the voices saying "Knock it off!"

Think Before You Speak

Pass it on.

Sorry...I couldn't resist! ;)

I really do agree though...it's a great campaign!

imagine how sick of it you'd be if you worked in the public school system! I heard it EVERY DAY when I subbed, have it say it's rare with 6th graders...but guess what I'm showing my students today? Great learning tool. Our school is actually encouraging teachers to wear rainbow ribbons today in support of coming out day...that's a whole other interesting story...but great video!

It's a good campaign. I just wish they were written better so they could be more effective.

I also hate - "Don't be queer."

Kids are still saying that? I had no idea. Tell them off next time.

I had one niece who used to say it and after a few tongue lashings from me I've never heard her say it again. Now maybe not around me.. I don't know. I hope not.
I have to watch myself about saying "retarded" and I used to work in Special Ed so I KNOW better. Ah the power of words....
