More Photos from Mt. Baker

A few more photos from the day the kids and I went with James and Cara to Mount Baker for some snow fun. Cara took these so I'm in some. WooHooo!

The End of the Year

I'm so sad today. I can't say I am looking forward to 2010 at all. In 2009 I had so much to look forward to - the end of law school and having Dakota home more so we could spend time together again - do all the things we talked about and planned. Celebrate when she passed the bar and then again when she landed the perfect job.

Enjoy being parents together to our amazing kids. I looked forward to her getting to know them like I had over the years when she was busy with school and work and studying. Law school was a very long 4 years and I was ready to reach the end so we could get back to being a family of four instead of the kids and I on our own so much of the time.

Yeah. That didn't so much work out.

So now? 2010 seems huge and looming and more than a bit terrifying. The kids and I? Still on our own.

So not the way I saw 2010 being rung in.

Cleaned Up

The Christmas tree, decorations and holiday photo cards are all put away. I can't say I am sad to see it all back in boxes because to say it's been a happy holiday season would be a lie. The kids had a great time - and that is what it is all about and all but I did not have a good time.

To be fair though I thought I would feel better to have it all boxed up and put away but really? I don't feel better but I guess it wasn't like it was a magic bullet or anything. I am trying to change things up in the house - hopefully that will help some.

Snow at Home

The kids and I drove home yesterday and just as we arrived within an exit of ours, the snow flurries started to fly. Surely it wouldn't amount to anything - after all, rain was the prediction for the day.

As the kids and I unloaded the car the snow started falling fast and furious....and piling up. All told we ended up with about three inches and the kids had a blast playing and playing and playing.

A Day on Mount Baker

Sunday morning we loaded up all the snow gear and drove to Mt. Baker for a day in the snow. The kids had a blast!

And after a day in the cold, we headed back to Uncle James' house so the kids could have some hot tub fun. Needless to say, they slept *very* well that night!

Christmas Continues

The kids found a small ice patch in my brother's driveway yesterdat morning and they spent about an hour sliding down it and laughing themselves silly.

And then later in the day we all went to my sister's house to enjoy a Christmas celebration with my family.
