Comment To Your Comment?
Do you love and not love them? What I mean is when you leave a comment on someone's blog, do you like it when they comment back to you? If you like it, do you like it done in the comment section of the post you commented on or emailed to you privately?
I have no real reason for asking - it's just been on my mind.
I know, that for me, I love when people comment back to me in the comment area of their posting. It lets me know they read what I wrote and they care enough to respond. I'm not a big fan of the emailed response to my comment because well, let's face it; I love to read the comments posted back to all the comments. I'm nosey that way. :)
Now that said - I suck at commenting back to the amazing people who leave comments on my blog. I try really hard to do it but the comments come in through my email, I read them and then I *mean* to go over to the blog and comment back but more times than not, I don't. *sheepish look*
I have to say though - I LOVE getting comments. And yes, even the privately emailed one that come. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!! And I try to leave a comment on each and every blog I visit because if *I* love comments this much, I know others do as well.
So? What about you? Do you love comments back to your comments or no?

I love it when people respond to the comments I leave on their blog. Like you, I feel like they have read the comment.
Caroline: For you, I will try to be better about it. It's one of the things that kept me coming back to your blog in the beginning (even before I started commenting). I just loved reading all the comments you left back. :)

I love comments, too. I love reading them on my blog and on other people's blogs, and I like to leave comments too. I've sucked lately at responding back to comments left on my blog, but I do mean to. Because I love comments!

Alright, Alright, I'm going over to my blog now to respond to your comment there! ;) Just teasing.
I get my comments sent to my e-mail account, so a lot of times, just out of convenience, I'll respond that way, but I LOVE me some comments!! :) And I think I like it better when the person responding to my comment e-mails it to me, because, let's face it, I'm a tool, and most times I forget to even go back and check if they responded to my comment!!
This week has been a lazy blog week though because my little baby is sick (and there's a good inlaw story about HOW she got sick coming soon!)
Personally I think blogger lacks in this area... and Live Journal rocks. But there are other things I don't care for about Live Journal and blogger fits my personal needs.
Typically when I go to someone's blog I read *everything* that is newly posted. I can always remember where I left off... and I read top to bottom until I'm caught up. I know other's who read bottom to top ;).
I then try and leave a comment on something that has struck me as interesting, fun, funny, intriguing, whatever the case may be. Ideally, I like to comment on most of the posts. In reality, I'm not very good at that and whether or not I comment is often driven by time or my mood of the moment. But know... when I visit I read everything.
But... generally speaking I do not go back over old posts. Once I've read it, I don't go back. Unless, that is, in the case of Live Journal where the conversation/community is more facilitated naturally (by design).
I make assumptions, correctly or incorrectly, that when I comment on someone's blog they eagerly await those comments via whatever means they are delivered. I assume they get them, read them, and am hopeful that they appreciate them. I am excited to see responses to something I've posted... but I don't expect it or anxiously await it.

Sonya: With me, your assumption is right on the mark. I read and love every comment that comes my way. Good to know you don't go back to check. I'll add you to my "comment back in email if you have anything to comment back about" list. *grin* Thanks for your feedback. OH WAIT! I need to email this to you. I'll do that right now. :)
I love comments back to my comments but I do not do it myself.
Yep I love the comments back to me! Kinda makes me feel like I can be in your life but way far away here in Winnipeg. Very cool! :-)

Canadian Jen: I think that is part of why I like them, too. Makes me feel more connected to people. Like a small conversation is taking place.
I love getting and leaving comments. I haven't bee reading as often as I wish I could!
