Tent City

This afternoon the kids and I built a giant tent in the living room. What a hit it was! They played in it for hours and, as you can see from the photos, one of our dogs, Jordan, was right in the mix as well. Kelton was laughing so hard because every time Jordan came out of the tent, he managed to pull one of the blankets off the structure and wear it around the house. We took to calling him "King Jordan" and the kids thought it was just the silliest thing ever.

Tents should be a childhood staple. They never go out of style, and they're ALWAYS so much fun for every kid! Looks like you ALL had a great time today!

Cute pictures--looks like it was fun. I loved making forts out of couch cushions as a child but my grandmother would always complain that we never put the couch back to normal afterwards. Hehehe.

Dogs always like to be in the middle of everything, eh? :P

I might make a tent and hide in it this week-end. That looks like fun

Casey - such beautiful pictures of the little people, and looks like they had a great time with the tent...and the location and the price was right. Im trying to figure out where you went shopping with no tax. I know New Hampshire has no tax, but when I read your location I thought hmmm too far to drive LOL
I have a daughter in the Northwest too....Dawson Creek, British Columbia (mile 0 of the Alaskan Hwy) so she is a little farther north than you. I wish they were coming for Christmas, but the deal was, every second year. I miss seeing the 2 little ones. I enjoy your tales of the antics of the youngsters, brings back memories of when my 5 were all at home. Enjoy every minute.

Tents like that are part of the ingredients for an idyllic childhood!

I give you mad props for being able to stand the tent city. I have such fond memories of fort-building, but when I try to get my kids into it they cry because parts fall down or they tear it all up and then leave, and I have to spend an hour putting all that junk away. You are a go getter and you should give yourself a mom pat on the back for doing that!

Is there a child who ever existed who doesn't love sheet/blanket tents? I remember those times myself as a child and then with my kids. Fun, fun, fun!! I love the pic of Jordan sitting in the (?) pop-up thing!

Thanks for the memories! Every Sat we'd change the sheets. But, in the winter we'd make "Heater City" in my room--a big U-shaped tent around my bed with the heater in the middle so it warmed up the whole tent. I'm glad Kelton and Kaylen had so much fun in theirs.
