The Everett Herald Obituary

Here is another obit for my mom. This one has a picture and I have to say, I like the write up format they use much better than the on-line Seattle Times version. The photo is one of my favorites of her as it's how she looks when I picture her in my mind. The whole photo has my dad in it too.

Oh shoot...I'll just post the real picture here.

I had a rough time sleeping last night. Could it be that it's all starting to be real?

A beautiful picture and they were a very handsome couple. I think it probably is starting to sink in some Casey and the viewing/wake (not sure which y'all do there) will be hard also. You're in my thoughts.

I agree that this one has more feeling in it. isn't it amazing what full sentences do for the written/spoken language?

Yes, I'd guess that the shock and numbness is beginning to wear off a bit. We sometimes think we are "ready," when in truth, we've just sealed the lid of emotions. Eventually, that usually comes loose and the reality leaks out. That's OK, Casey; it may feel awful to you, but keeping it buttoned inside would only do harm to you.

I'm holding you and the rest of the family in my heart.

Your mother is beautiful (your father is fairly dashing as well).

Whether it's sinking in or whether you're just itching to move forward, I'm sure all of the events of the past several months are catching up.

You contine to be in our thoughts.

What a lovely picture of your parents. I think there's a fine line between the real and the surreal of losing a parent, and at first we bounce back and forth across that line. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
