A New Coffee Pot!

I have a new coffee pot. Well - technically new. It's been sitting in a box in the garage for the past three years but this is the first time I've used it. I had a cute 10 cup Krups pot that I adored but lately it started leaking as it brewed. I put up with it for as long as I could but when it started leaking half the pot on the counter I knew it was time to bid it farewell and move on. I mean seriously. In my world it's a crime against nature to mess with my caffeine.

And so dump it I did.

I located the box with my "free when you purchase Gevalia coffee" coffee pot and unwrapped it. It is stainless steel and actually quite pretty. It has a clock, auto-brew and auto-shutoff but the most important feature it has? A bigger pot! Bigger by TWO CUPS! I'm in freakin' hog heaven!!

So this morning, when Dakota started the coffee to jump start her final, I didn't have to think unkind thoughts about her drinking up "all" the coffee - there was plenty to share. Twelve glorious cups of the magic stuff.

Makes me wonder why I never bothered to open the box before now. :)

Coffee anyone? I have enough to share now.

Fun Gift!

Look what I got today! Kaylen and I went to MOMS Club this morning while Kelton was at day camp and in walks Sheri with a gift for me. I had helped her (just a small bit) when she was setting up her blog and she had promised me coffee (Yes, that's right. I'll do just about anything for coffee! LOL!). She gave me something so much cooler than just a cup of joe though....she gave me an official Gilmore Girls coffee mug.....a BIG one! :) As you all probably remember, I am Gilmore Girls obsessed. I love, love, love, love, love that show!!

It cup says: "Please Luke, please, please, please...."

That lines comes from season one and the dialogue goes a bit like this:
*****************
Lorelai walks past a sign that says "Stars Hollow Founded 1779" and crosses the street. She goes into Luke's coffee shop. She takes off her coat and walks up to the counter, coffee cup in hand.

Lorelai: Please, Luke. Please, please, please.
Luke: How many cups have you had this morning?
Lorelai: None.
Luke: Plus...
Lorelai: Five, but yours is better.
Luke: You have a problem.
Lorelai: Yes, I do.
Luke pours her coffee.
Luke: Junkie.
Lorelai: Angel. You've got wings, baby.
*****************

I LOVE THIS CUP!!

Thank you Sheri - you totally made my week! :)

Coffee Girl, Part 2

Thought I would share some proof of Coffee Girl's addiction with you. I missed her saying it spontaneously the first time since I don't usually walk around with a camera in my hand 24/7 but still...it's all her! :)

Coffee Toddler

Is caffiene a drug as in "serious drug"? If so, my 2 year old is needing a serious drug rehab stay. *laughing*

It used to be that it was good enough to wait for me to finish my morning cup and then she would drink the teeny tiny bit that was left. We moved from that to drinking nice big swallows, but still from my cup. In the last few weeks she has begun demanding coffee in her sippy cup! I pour a small amount into a cup and hand it to her. She will climb up next to me on the couch and without fail, the girl will take a drink, make a happy sound and then say "Mmmmmmmm....Me love coffee."

Here are a couple photos of my coffee princess in her younger addiction days.

Manipulated by the Best

Ah yes. It's so easy to manipulate a mommy who lives on, and for, caffeine.

We're driving along, happily chatting with each other on the way from running errands when my not-yet 5 year old says:

"Mom....wouldn't a nice cup of hot coffee taste really good right now?"

Me: "It sure would."

Kelton: "Yeah. It would be really nice."

He makes a few happy sounds as I start to fanatize about holding a hot cup of Starbucks coffee in my sleep deprived hands.

Kelton: "Hey Mom?"

Me" "Mmmmm?"

Kelton: "Why don't we stop by a coffee place and you can buy a coffee." (notice how it isn't a question. It's a statement. A directive."

Me: "You know, that does sound really good. I think I will."

Silence for a minute while I am lost in happy thoughts about coffee.

Kelton: "And while we're there, let's get a big cookie for me and Kaylen."

And there you have it. My sweet boy wasn't looking after *me*. Nope. He was looking after himself and his desire for a big chocolate chip cookie.

And yes. He got it.

But I got my Venti Raspberry Mocha, too! :)
