I was tagged by Shannon from The Other MotherHood. Her blog is private but she is a regular visitor here. So...here goes...more than you could ever possibly want to know about me. :)
How long have you been married? Married: 13 years. Together: 14
Where did you meet? a local bulletin board system. This was pre- AOL/Yahoo/etc chat rooms. This was a board run out of Seattle for the GLBT community.
How long did you date? Before what? :) I would say we saw each other for about a week or so before she came to stay over and never left. :)
How old is she? 42
Who eats more? Hard to say. Depends on the day. :)
Who said “I love you” first? Oh my gosh - I don't think I can remember on the spur of the moment like this. Dakota? Do you remember?
Who is taller? Dakota. By 6 inches. No kidding. I'm that short. :)
Who sings better? Birds. :)
Who is smarter? Wow - whoever came up with this game sure is looking to cause problems in relationships, aren't they? :) I would have to say that I am street smart in regards to real life stuff and Dakota is definitely more book smart. We compliment each other well.
Whose temper is worse? Mine.
Who does the laundry? I do. Though to her credit, Dakota will toss in a load here and there and help fold. But I win this one hands down. :)
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Dakota
Who pays the bills? I do.
Who cooks dinner? Dakota. At least, this has always been the deal. Then along came law school....so...let me put it this way; when Dakota is home, she does. When she isn't, I do.
Who drives when you are together? Me.
Who is more stubborn? Probably me. Though let me tell you - she has a stubborn streak as well. :)
Who kissed whom first? Ummm....uuuuhhhh....it's been 14 years...I'm thinking, I'm thinking! I'm not 100% sure but I have a feeling it was Dakota. :)
Who is the first to admit to being wrong? Dakota is never wrong. Just ask her. :) :) :) (You know I love you, honey! *wink*)
Whose parents do you see the most? Dakota's mom and step-dad. We live four hours from mine and about 4 minutes from hers. :)
Who proposed? Dakota did. It was a surprise move and I was blown away. We'd been dating for about a month and we had just that weekend moved her stuff into my place. We were at a country dance bar in Seattle.
What’s her best physical attribute? Everything. Seriously. But I think I'll go with her eyes. I just love them!
Who has more friends? Hard to say on this one. I'd say she does since she has so many co-worker and law school buddies. As for good friends, I'd say we are probably close to equal these days.
What are you most proud of her for? Having the determination to go after her dreams while still balancing all the adult responsibility stuff. She is also one heck of a great partner and mom to our kids.
Who has more siblings? I do. I have three brothers and a sister. Dakota has two sisters. I grew up with mine, Dakota's siblings were all but grown and gone by the time she was born so...in essence, she was an only child.
Who wears the pants in the family? At different times and for different things we both do.
And now I'm supposed to tag others but how about this instead; if you want to do it, do it. If you don't, that's cool too. :)

It's a Me-Me!
I was tagged by Caroline for a Me-Me. I don't usually participate in these since well - I have a hard time coming up with things about myself but today I thought "Why not." Aren't you feeling lucky that you stopped by? :)
Here are the rules:1. Link to the person who tagged you.
2. Leave a comment on their blog so that their readers can visit yours.
3. Post the rules on your blog.
4. Share the seven (7) most famous or infamous people you have met. Or go with the original 7 weird things about yourself.
5. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post.
6. Include links to their blogs.
7. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog. (Hmmm...I think I'll skip this part. That way they have no pressure. If you see your name here and you want to play - or heck, even if you don't see your name here and you want to play - then go for it!)
Dang. That's a lot of rules.
#1. I haven't really met famous people by the traditional definition of "famous". I'm not sure what that says about me. Has everyone else met famous people? Maybe so if there is an entire Me-Me dedicated to it. I guess because of this I'm clearly going for 7 weird things about myself. And yes, that was number 1.
#2. I have an extremely difficult time falling to sleep. Even with the pure exhaustion of being with kids 24/7 it's a rare night when I will fall asleep before an hour or more passes. Dakota is snoring within a minute or two of saying goodnight but not me....nope. I'm awake for freakin' ever.
#3. Upon waking at night, I repeat the entire not able to fall to sleep thing. The time varies but it's not unusual to have an hour go by. Not always, mind you. Just too often.
#4. I have to take a shower every single morning. Not because I smell bad (though I'm not claiming otherwise either) but because my hair turns into something *very* scary while I sleep. There is no way I could ever consider walking out the door without washing my hair in the morning - a brush or comb would never bring order to whatever happens while I sleep. I'm not exactly sure *what* happens but man is it frightening! :)
#5. I have an irrational fear of heights. It wasn't always the case but shortly after I broke my back I realized that I couldn't even look at movies when they were showing the height from the top of a building (or anything like that). I suppose you could chalk it up to rational/based on muscle memory or something since I fell 6ft when I broke my back but come on! It's just crazy! Three steps up on a ladder is pushing it. Crazy - I tell ya!
#6. The blankets on my bed must have satin binding on them. It's a carry over from childhood but I have to be able to feel the satin softness in my hands before I can relax and sleep. In fact, just yesterday I bought a fantastic blanket at Target. It's fluffy, incredibly soft and has the best satin binding I have *ever* held in my hands. It has become my new comfort item and I love, love, love it!
#7. I am actually having trouble coming up with weird things about myself. I just IM'd Dakota (who is at class) and she said it's because I'm not all that weird. That's kind of weird, right? Not being all that weird is kind of weird so yes, it counts. (Thanks, honey!) :) But seriously, I'll leave you with this one: I can not stand repetitive touch. That includes arm rubbing, massage, or even being breathed upon in a repetitive fashion. It makes my skin crawl.
Ok - there you have it. Seven weird things about me. Wasn't that just fascinating? :) And now for the rest of the game..I get to pick others to pass this along to. All my MOMS Club friends have private blogs but that won't stop me from tagging them. Here goes:
Brenda
Melanie
Sheri
Perrin
Nikki
Tina
Julie

Tag - I'm It.
I was tagged by Caroline. Here are the rules:
1. Link to the person’s blog who tagged you.
2. Post these rules on your blog.
3. List seven random and/or weird facts about yourself
4. Tag seven random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
5. Let each person know that they have been tagged by posting a comment on their blog.
So, here are 7 facts about me that you may or may not know:
1. I changed my name. I changed my first name, then I moved my birth last name to my middle name and took Dakota's last name as mine.
2. Sometimes my kids drive me crazy and I wonder what on earth I was thinking when I thought kids were a good idea but then I hear them laughing and playing with each other or hold them in my arms, I remember why I wanted them in my life.
3. My favorite coffee drink is a Starbucks Raspberry Mocha. Venti size. :)
4. I feel like I'm slacking off because I haven't been scrap booking lately. I feel like I'm cheating my kids and I feel guilty for that.
5. Someday I want to live in a really big, beautiful house. One of those Street of Dreams kind of homes.
6. I have three older siblings and one younger but I am, chronologically the middle child. Five years from the oldest and five years from the youngest.
7. I haven't had 8 solid hours of sleep in at least 6 years. For that matter, I haven't had 6 solid hours of sleep in at least 6 years.
I tag:
Brenda
Dakota
Frazzled Mom
Patti-Cake Land
Fern
Ivy
Audra
And because I think it would be fun...I'm going to tag one more:

I've Been Tagged....
...by Patti_Cakes and it seems like a good diversion so here goes:
First, the rules:
Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to blog about their seven things and post the rules as well. At the end of your post, choose 7 people to tag and list their names. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them that they have been tagged and to read your blog! OK, here we go....
1) I'm a bit (ahem....yes, I'm only claiming a bit. No comments from the peanut gallery, Dakota!) anal about things. Not all things but a lot of things. I think things should be done in a certain manner and that's all there is to it. So there. :)
2) I love, love, love The Gilmore Girls. I own a bunch of the seasons already (well - some were "gifts" for Dakota but we both know they are really for me. *grin*) and by golly I will own all of them before the year is out. And I am so incredibly bummed that May 15th is the last ever new episode. It's true - word came down today that the show is ending. It's just not right, I tell you. If 7th Heaven can still be on the air (and it should have been done years ago!) then this just makes no sense what-so-ever. Grrrrrrrrrrrr.
3) I work really hard to be sure the house is cleaned up before the kids and I leave it - even if we're only running the grocery store. One of my biggest fears is leaving a messy house, getting hurt (or worse) while away from the house and having other people walk into the house to find it a mess. I just don't want people thinking "Dang - she was a slob! Couldn't even be bothered to do the breakfast dishes or make the bed? Lazy ass." Yes, I know. I need therapy. :)
4) If I were to win the lottery (which I'm told is impossible if you never play. Go figure.) I don't think I would go nutty and buy tons of stuff. I don't have a need for 5 fancy cars and a gigantic house. I think my biggest splurge would be a beach house for weekend/summer getaways. Nothing tremendously fancy - but it would have to have an up close and personal view of the beach. :)
5) I have precious few real life friends. Most of the people who I call friends are internet-based. I gotta tell you though - it's hard to have a summer bbq with friends who span the country.
6) I love to shop. But not for myself. I love to shop for the kids. I rarely ever buy things which are not on clearance or at a consignment shop/garage sale. I can' stand paying full price when I know I can get things for less....even if they are "pre-owned". Except shoes for the kids. I am all about new shoes for them though I still won't spend a ton.
7) I've been living in a hotel for 21 days (and counting). It's not as much fun as it looks in the movies. :)
So - who is getting tagged? Let's see...........Brenda, Caroline, FroggyMama, Mieke, Tracey, Lynilu and Holly. Can't wait to read yours.
