"Listen earnestly to anything [your children] want to tell you, no matter what. If you don't listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little, they won't tell you the big stuff when they are big, because to them all of it has always been big stuff. "

That's wonderful. I need to write it down and keep it somewhere.
Sounds like you were reading my thoughts ... I noticed I kept putting Nick "on hold" today as I ran around doing stuff ... then caught myself later and realized I should have paid more attention. I'll be posting this quote on the frig for sure!
I love that. I'm with Perrin - I need to see that every day!
How true...My daughter (28yrs) tells me everything....even some stuff she shouldn't.....she threw us a surprise party and she told people it was the hardest thing she has done in her life because she tells her MOM everything....kinda made me feel good....
What an awesome quote!
This must be the theme going around. Evan keeps saying, "Play with me, Mommy! I want to play with you!" And I think to myself, "soon he will be saying the exact opposite." Cherish the present, right??
AWESOME advice. I try to heed it because they grow up so quickly.
